Should the Knight sneak in again afterwards (still with high enough princess affinity,) he can convince the princess to leave her reign to her heir and join the Knight's party. If the princess becomes pregnant, she will eventually give birth to an heir, and the game will inform the player when this happens. If the Knight has high enough princess affinity, he can sneak into her room while the princess sleeps and wake her up to have sex.
Press S on the world map to access these screens. Some methods require princess affinity, which is represented as hearts on the princess' status screen. See the list of princesses below for special cases and exceptions. There are several standard methods for recruiting a princess who is the leader of her own reign.
